It’s storytime on Day 2 of #SmallBusinessWeek

Growing up in Mexico, Hector Saldivar watched his mom -known by family and friends as “Tia Lupita” - perfect their traditional family hot sauce recipe passed down over generations.

She took much pride in her concoction, and rightly so! People were anxious for Tia Lupita to sell her sauce. Unfortunately for them, she enjoyed preparing it exclusively for her family and friends so much she declined... until Hector moved to Northern California.

A caring mother at heart, Tia Lupita worried about her son being far away. She shipped him bottles of her creation so he would have a piece of home with him It wasn’t long before his friends in San Francisco wanted to get their hands too on this secret hot sauce. Hector finally decided to ask for his mom’s permission to follow her recipe and bottle her sauce using NorCal ingredients.

Guess what? She agreed! Ah parents eternal struggles saying no to their child...⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
