La Dunkerquoise – Vintage Tray of Thin Biscuits with Almonds, 110g

Sold out

Crispy thin biscuits made with toasted almond bits. Comes in a vintage box decorated in an “Art Nouveau” style, a “new art” movement that flourished in the early 1900s.

This Vintage Tray of Almond Thins is made from large pastries with almond chips. These pastries are then thinly sliced before baking and cooled slowly to ensure their crispy texture. Louis Preneel was the first to invent these thin biscuits back in 1904. His biscuits were so tasty that people would travel for miles to Dunkirk, a city in Northern France. Since then, La Dunkerquoise uses the same recipe and oven to ensure the authenticity of this French specialty!
